Celebrating Barbie’s 65th anniversary, this Mattel & Verizon first-ever collaboration showcasing Barbie as the star of Verizon’s 2024 holiday campaign, the ad reimagines Barbie’s iconic Dreamhouse as a “StreamHouse” powered by Verizon Home Internet.
Shot in Stop-motion with real Barbie and Ken dolls (11 Barbies, 3 Kens, and 1 dog, Miss Honey), the animation embraced their natural joint limitations to enhance the nostalgic play experience, mixing stop-motion with live-action elements for added humor. Working closely with a host of talented women creatives at Mattel, each room was meticulously designed to create a distinctive look for every scene. Key dolls were styled by Mattel’s Doll Stylists, who crafted unique hairstyles and outfits for each “cast” member, adding personality to every frame.
